Speckled dasyure (Long clawed marsupial mouse)

INTRODUCTION

Hi friends, I’m a Long-clawed marsupial mouse. Also called the speckled dasyure because I sprinkled long, white hairs in the dark gray upper fur. We have short, powerful limbs with very long claws on all toes. We dig by day for grubs, worms, and similar prey. We like to stay in mountains, highlands, and scree slopes. Information on my nesting and breeding is very sparse; 4 young have been recorded in my female’s pouch.
